On les y entend \u00e0 de multiples reprises \u00e0 partir de 1728, le premier notamment dans des sonates \u00e0 deux violons avec son \u00e9l\u00e8ve Jacques Aubert, le second dans des interpr\u00e9tations de ses propres sonates et concertos. \u00ab\u00a0Cet artiste, le plus c\u00e9l\u00e8bre qu\u2019ait eu la France pour la Musique purement instrumentale\u00a0\u00bb d\u2019apr\u00e8s la presse au milieu du si\u00e8cle, y rencontrera toujours un vif succ\u00e8s qui l\u2019am\u00e8nera \u00e0 s\u2019y produire tout au long de sa carri\u00e8re, entre les voyages et les tourn\u00e9es europ\u00e9ennes de sa vie fort mouvement\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Le violon \u00e0 la conqu\u00eate de ses lettres de noblesse<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le violon \u00e9tait au XVII<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle l\u2019apanage des virtuoses italiens autant que des ma\u00eetres \u00e0 danser fran\u00e7ais. Ce dernier avait longtemps occup\u00e9 la place de Basse de violon avant d\u2019acc\u00e9der \u00e0 celle de Haute-Contre de violon\u00a0: peut-\u00eatre le fils a-t-il acquis \u00e0 son contact une sensibilit\u00e9 particuli\u00e8re aux parties de basse\u00a0?<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Elles sont dans ses sonates d\u2019une richesse inhabituelle, tout particuli\u00e8rement dans le pr\u00e9lude de la sixi\u00e8me sonate, \u00ab\u00a0si travaill\u00e9es que nous pouvons jouer ces sonates sans le support et le soutien d\u2019une basse d\u2019archet \u00bb comme le remarque William Christie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019engouement pour le violon prend une ampleur in\u00e9dite dans les premi\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies XVIII<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle, au point de devenir l\u2019instrument de pr\u00e9dilection d\u2019Ad\u00e9la\u00efde de France, fille de Louis XV. Il touche d\u00e9sormais toutes les couches de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9, ainsi que le souligne le Mercure de France en 1738\u00a0: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><\/p><p>Cet Instrument a \u00e9t\u00e9 ennobli de nos jours ; il n&rsquo;est plus honteux aux honn\u00eates gens de le cultiver, et on veut bien accorder une sorte de gloire et de l&rsquo;estime \u00e0 ceux qui y excellent, parmi lesquels on peut compter des Seigneurs de la plus grande \u00c9l\u00e9vation.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00ab\u00a0Sonate, que me veux-tu\u00a0?\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019apostrophe, attribu\u00e9e \u00e0 Fontenelle par Rousseau, montre combien, pour les philosophes fran\u00e7ais, une musique purement instrumentale dans laquelle \u00ab\u00a0on s&rsquo;attache \u00e0 tout ce qu&rsquo;il y a de plus favorable pour faire briller l&rsquo;instrument pour lequel on travaille ; soit par la beaut\u00e9 des chants, soit par le choix des sons qui conviennent le mieux \u00e0 cette espece d&rsquo;instrument, soit par la hardiesse de l&rsquo;ex\u00e9cution\u00a0\u00bb, ne va pas de soi. D\u2019Alembert va jusqu\u2019\u00e0 comparer les violonistes \u00e0 des \u00ab\u00a0danseurs de cordes\u00a0\u00bb, qui diraient \u00ab\u00a0rapidement et sans suite les mots d\u2019un dictionnaire\u00a0\u00bb\u00a0! Mais l\u2019engouement du public pour la musique instrumentale ne faiblit pas. Port\u00e9s par l\u2019essor de la gravure musicale, Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre, Jean-F\u00e9ry Rebel, Fran\u00e7ois Duval, Jean-Baptiste S\u00e9naill\u00e9, Jean-Marie Leclair ainsi que Fran\u00e7ois et Louis Francoeur publient nombre de livres de sonates accompagn\u00e9es par la basse continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Jean-Marie Leclair: Sonata VIII \u00e0 Trois (V. Jean-Marie Leclair, de dix ans son cadet, publie tout aussi jeune son\u00a0<em>Premier livre de sonates \u00e0 violon seul<\/em>, et se consacre comme son a\u00een\u00e9 \u00e0 ce genre, au fil de publications qui accompagnent l\u2019ensemble de sa carri\u00e8re de compositeur. Ses sonates sont soit, comme celles de Senaill\u00e9, en quatre mouvements, soit en trois, d\u00e9pourvues alors de mouvement lent initial. Ses \u0153uvres ont beau \u00eatre c\u00e9l\u00e8bres pour leur remarquable virtuosit\u00e9, il montre dans la pr\u00e9face de son\u00a0<em>Quatri\u00e8me livre<\/em>\u00a0une attention soutenue aux autres qualit\u00e9s de l\u2019interpr\u00e9tation\u00a0: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><\/p><p>Tous ceux qui voudront parvenir \u00e0 executer cet ouvrage dans le gout de l\u2019auteur doivent s\u2019attacher \u00e0 trouver le caract\u00e9re de chaque pi\u00e9ce, ainsi que le veritable mouvement et la qualit\u00e9 de son qui convient aux differents morceaux. Un point important et sur lequel on ne peut trop insister, c\u2019est d\u2019\u00e9viter cette confusion de notes que l\u2019on ajoute aux morceaux de chant et d\u2019expression qui ne servent qu\u2019\u00e0 les defigurer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container \" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"J.-M. Paradoxalement, c\u2019est encore le cas de sa toute derni\u00e8re sonate, HWV 371\u00a0: bien qu\u2019on la suppose, pour des raisons d\u2019analyse du papier du manuscrit autographe et de parent\u00e9s avec l\u2019oratorio\u00a0<em>Salomon<\/em>\u00a0(1748), dat\u00e9e des ann\u00e9es 1750, elle emploie dans ses premier et dernier mouvements des motifs musicaux issus d\u2019\u0153uvres compos\u00e9es pendant les jeunes ann\u00e9es romaines de leur auteur.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senaill\u00e9 et Leclair connaissent sans nul doute parfaitement la musique de Corelli comme celle de ses successeurs, et tous deux ont b\u00e9n\u00e9fici\u00e9 de voyages en Italie. Le Mercure de France \u00e9crit au sujet de Senaill\u00e9 :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-center is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><\/p><p>Il avoit aport\u00e9 ass\u00e9s de ce go\u00fbt ultramontain, pour le m\u00ealer avec art, \u00e0 de tr\u00e8s-jolis chants Fran\u00e7ois\u00a0; le progr\u00e8s que le Violon a fait depuis en France lui doit, car il m\u00eala dans sa Musique des choses difficiles \u00e0 executer, et comme ses Airs de Symphonie \u00e9toient agr\u00e9ables et avoient un certain brillant, tout le monde en fut charm\u00e9, et voulut aprendre \u00e0 les jo\u00fcer.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Les danses \u00e0 la fran\u00e7aises et leur forte identit\u00e9 rythmique perdurent, mais leurs noms sont italianis\u00e9s et assortis d\u2019indications de tempo \u00e0 l\u2019italienne. L\u2019ornementation m\u00eale des dessins typiquement fran\u00e7ais aux trilles italiens, aux notes r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9es et aux d\u00e9crochages de tessiture qui, dans les derniers livres de Leclair, \u00e9voquent l\u2019\u00e9criture de Vivaldi. Th\u00e9otime Langlois de Swarte, William Christie, Thomas Dunford.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Fran\u00e7ois Couperin avait exhort\u00e9, dans la pr\u00e9face de son deuxi\u00e8me livre de\u00a0<em>Concerts royaux<\/em>, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9mergence d\u2019une esth\u00e9tique des go\u00fbts-r\u00e9unis qui associerait les qualit\u00e9s propres de la musique fran\u00e7aise \u00e0 celles de la musique italienne\u00a0: c\u2019est sous la plume de Senaill\u00e9, puis encore davantage sous celle de Leclair, qu\u2019elle aura,\u00a0<em>in fine,<\/em>\u00a0pu enti\u00e8rement se d\u00e9ployer.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-white-background-color has-background wp-block-heading\">Who&rsquo;s who <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#c3e4f9\"><strong>Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764)<\/strong> Danseur et violoniste form\u00e9 \u00e0 Lyon, Leclair donne dans la d\u00e9cennie 1720 des concerts remarqu\u00e9s et compose pour Turin, Paris, Londres ou encore Kassel, sans figer son activit\u00e9 au service d\u2019une cour en particulier avant d\u2019\u00eatre nomm\u00e9 ordinaire de la musique du Roi par Louis XV en 1733 \u2013 poste qu\u2019il ne conserve d\u2019ailleurs que quelques ann\u00e9es. Comme la majorit\u00e9 des compositeurs fran\u00e7ais de sa g\u00e9n\u00e9ration, Leclair est un compositeur \u00ab\u00a0des go\u00fbts r\u00e9unis\u00a0\u00bb, volontiers vivaldien dans ses mouvements rapides, et plus fran\u00e7ais dans ses mouvements lents. Virtuose exceptionnel, il compose une musique dont la difficult\u00e9 redoutable ne c\u00e8de rien \u00e0 la richesse harmonique et \u00e0 la sensibilit\u00e9 m\u00e9lodique. Son influence sur l\u2019\u00e9cole de violon fran\u00e7aise demeure perceptible jusqu\u2019\u00e0 la fin du XVIII<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup>\u00a0si\u00e8cle.  Pour en savoir un peu plus sur les <a href=\"http:\/\/constanceluzzati.com\/index.php\/2019\/12\/28\/le-salon-des-miroirs\/\">sonates pour violon de Leclair<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-background\" style=\"background-color:#d2eeff\"><strong>Jean-Baptiste Senaill\u00e9 (ca. 1688-1730<\/strong>) Violoniste et compositeur fran\u00e7ais, Jean-Baptiste Senaill\u00e9 passe la majeure partie de sa carri\u00e8re \u00e0 la cour de Louis XV en tant que membre des Vingt-quatre Violons du Roi, au sein desquels son p\u00e8re Jean Senaill\u00e9 avait \u00e9t\u00e9 engag\u00e9 sous Louis XIV. Compositeur de musique exclusivement d\u00e9volue \u00e0 son instrument, il publie cinq livres de sonates pour violon et basse continue entre 1710 et 1727. Sa biographie est mal document\u00e9e, et bien que Titon du Tillet relate un voyage en Italie entre 1716 et 1721, son activit\u00e9 sur place demeure incertaine. Ses compositions associent l\u2019\u00e9criture brillante \u00ab\u00a0\u00e0 l\u2019italienne\u00a0\u00bb au style fran\u00e7ais, t\u00e9moignant d\u2019une assimilation des apports de Corelli et ses successeurs \u00e0 la tradition de musique de danse versaillaise.
